Just What We Wanted! September 4, 2010 Joolz (Wiltshire England) Bought this microwave because we wanted a 23L black microwave. Price was good and delivery from Amazon was, as usual, spot on. Easy to operate and looks good
Good Microwave September 3, 2010 Flubaluba (UK) Just got the Microwave today after ordering 9 days ago. Very slow delivery for Amazon, but was due to my microwave traveling all over the country first.Delivery problems happen but at least this is the only time i have had to wait for more than a few days so hopefully just a one off.
Microwave came in a damaged box but no marks on it at all. easy to unpack and had it plugged in and working in under 5 minutes.
This microwave looks small compared to my old one but i suspect that is due to more hight than width compared to others i have had. As i only use the microwave to defrost or heat cooked food i am not too concernd about the size. A normal size plate fits perfectly for reheating food.
I am suprised at the dimensions of this Microwave as they explain many times in the instructions that food cooks quicker if spead out on a plate than if food is piled higher, so i would have thought a wider lower unit would have been better.
Ok so all of the not so good points out of the way now for the good.
This microwave is Beautifully designed and should look realy nice in any Kitchen.
The black surface is easy to clean an the interior is the same as most microwaves.
The Buttons have a click feel to them so you know when you have pushed them
The settings buttons are handy when you learn which one does what. They are really just short cuts to various settings , for eg the auto defrost when pushed once sets the microwave to a lower power setting than when pressed twice and sets the time. so you do not have to adjust time and power settings seperatly. This is the same as most microwaves i just think people do not read the manual and understand the shortcuts. Saying that, if you are used to changing the settings yourself it is really easy.
The glass plate inside seems small but my old plate which is a few cm larger fit perfectly.
All in all i realy like this microwave, just hopeing that it is good quality mechanicaly and lasts more than a few years.
pro: good looking and easy to use.
con:a bit small and buttons have a flimsy feel to them
Daewoo Microwave Oven September 3, 2010 Emma, Maidstone What a gem. Excellent price, Good looker. Neat all round and does the job of more expensive models and better presented.
Daewoo KOR8AOR 23L 800W Oven Black September 1, 2010 Forester (Blidworth, Notts) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this microwave after reading and comparing umpteen reviews on different sites. This is my standard practice particularly when buying anything electrical. I find Amazon invaluable in this respect and generally end up buying from here.
I wanted something no smaller than the old one (23Litre) which narrowed the field somewhat. I wanted one to defrost, reheat and only occasionally cook. A grill was not required. I was immediately attracted to the Daewoo both for its looks and the Amazon price. It seemed to fit the bill perfectly and I would have expected to pay quite a lot more for it. Delivery was, as usual, immediate and on seeing it in the flesh as it were, I found it even classier looking than the picture. It has proved very easy to use without reference to the instructions and is not burdened with a multitude of programmes I would probably never use. The ones that it has are spot on and easily understood. The automatic defrost mode (meat, poultry etc)does so to perfection. Nit-picking, it does not seem quite as wide inside as my old one.It takes a large dinner plate but not quite a large oval casserole dish. It is certainly a lot quieter. Another advantage is that it has no top vents so if space is an issue, you can stand something not too heavy on top of it.
All in all, it is a quality, exceptional value-for-money product and I would most certainly recommend it to anyone considering an oven in this category. It is my first Daewoo product but, on the strength of this, will probably not be my last. Well done Daewoo!
No faulting it August 29, 2010 Mr. J. A. Carr 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had this for about a month now. Works very well and looks good too. The knob to set the time is actually very easy to use and, unlike another reviewer on here, I've had no problems getting the time right without fiddling. There's also the option to press start which gives you 30s every time you press it which I use more than the knob anyway.
I would definitely recommend this item after searching for quite a few different microwaves on a low budget.
