Amazon.co.uk Review The big-screen adaptation of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire romance, is aimed squarely at its key demographic: teen girls whose idea of Prince Charming is a brooding, pale, undead teen who could kill you instantly at any moment. Such a prince is more fascinating than frightening to new girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to the rainy-gray town of Forks, Wash., to live with her dad (Billy Burke), the local sheriff who's puzzled by a series of "animal attacks." On her first day at school, Bella appears to (visibly) nauseate her lab partner, Edward (Robert Pattinson). Turns out the scent of her blood is this vampire's "brand of heroin," and his struggle not to kill her causes an irresistible pull toward her. Whether he's attracted for the normal reasons or because she smells especially sweet to him is vague in the book and even less clear on-screen; nonetheless, Bella falls hopelessly in love with Edward, which sets her on a dangerous path when a few nomad vampires show up in town, one particularly keen on tracking the human. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen), Twilight is full of funny moments--not all of which are intentional--and the casting, from Stewart to Bella's self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on. The weakest link, unfortunately, is Pattinson. While he certainly looks the part, his Edward could have used an extra injection of testosterone (Pattinson, who is British, used James Dean as a model for his American accent). In scenes where he growls about the temptation to kill those who would harm Bella, or flitting around a forest warning her how dangerous he is, he comes off more like a whimpering puppy than a debonair monster. The good news is, his chemistry with Stewart (particularly in their big kissing scene) is palpable, which, let's face it, is really what matters to Twilight fans most. --Ellen A. Kim

Excellent Quality March 8, 2010 Kerem Atakan Arrived in perfect condition . All the special features are amazing . A must have for all twilight fans . You will enjoy and will never regret buying it .
twilight double disc March 5, 2010 Corinne Beach (UK) I was really pleased with this disc because it had lot's of special feature's. I really enjoyed the extended scene's, and the cut scene's. I also enjoyed the interview with the auther of the book, she gave insight as to how the book came together
Twilight with Good amount of extras March 5, 2010 Linz The first movie in the Twilight Saga, starring Kristen Stewart as the teenage girl Bella and Robert Pattinson as the vampire she falls in love with.
There is a good amount of special "extras" included in this version, including an audio commentary from director Catherine Hardwicke and the stars Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson that is hilarious.
While the movie may not be as good as it possibly could've been for fans of the books, possibly due to the many budget and time constraints it was made under as it preceded the current Twilight mania, Stewart pulls off an amazing portrayal of the clutzy, responsible teen Bella and the loving touch of the camera on the scenery of the Olympic Peninsula and Pacific North-west perfectly captures the Forks of Stephanie Meyer's novels.
Twilight March 3, 2010 Mrs. A. Argent (Oxford, UK) I really enjoyed the film of Twilight. If you've read the book before seeing the film, it does differ slightly and I would try not to worry too much about it sticking to the book.
Both the story and the book are told from Bella's point of view. In the book you can use your imagination whilst in the film a lot of what is thought needs to be said/performed instead. Obviously not all scenes from the book are included but the majority of big quotes from the book are used in the film. You get the gist of it by the end of the film.
Robert Pattinson comes across as an English Edward - even though Edward is from Chicargo. Bella comes as being slightly pathetic at times and then not - the character isn't very consistant.
Worth watching and the extras are also worth it. Music videos, deleted scenes and extended scenes and director info, how the book became a film etc.
It is a good film and worth seeing.
Hmmm.... February 24, 2010 LD (UK) I knew I didn't want to watch this film!!
Reason being that I had my own Edward etc in my mind... somehow I had managed to by pass the hype and had no idea what the cast looked like. Anyway, my Edward was HOT (lol) and I was reluctant to have his image changed to one of a film star.
But a friend lent it to me... I was weak!!!
I didn't hate it. I didn't love it.
It wasn't Twilight.
Physically, the Cullens were way too 'normal' looking... with the exception of Carlisle. Their skin was too 'human', they walked like all the other kids - slouching, arms draping over shoulders.... except Jasper - his walk was just disturbing! He looked like he might need Alice to change his nappy!
That is in no way a criticism of the cast, but of the big wigs running the show.
Edward seemed way too human... where was his velvet voice?! He just sounded like a moody teen.... all be it a cute moody teen. He needed to be darker... sexier... he needed to be Edward Cullen! Stupid big wigs!!!
Any way I expected these things really - imagination will always win.
What I didn't expect was a made up version of Twilight.
I don't understand the reason for adding scenes that are not in the book such as the vampire attacks, climbing bloody trees and school trips. I feel that they served no real purpose other than confused the story line... because to add these scenes, major aspects of the book were, well, gone!!?? Everything that would have explained and built upon the relationship between Edward and Bella, that would have made the film make sense, was left out!
When he gestures her over to his table in the canteen...
Edward skipping science when they were going to be blood typing - rescuing her from Mike and carrying her to the medical room when she faints from the smell of blood...
Jacob should have told her the story as told in the book...
They shouldn't have messed with the meadow!... The relationship, trust and understanding between Edward and Bella which which lead to this scene in the book - imo - was far more important than seeing them up a bloody tree!!!... I mean who would go off into the woods (with a man who doesn't seem to like you very much) to tell him that you 'know' he is a vampire?!?!!... Um - Not Bella! Oh and I can't imagine Bella being too thrilled to be up that tree either!
I could go on and on but I won't.
Oh sorry - yes I will!!!
The baseball scene was fine - but what was the defending Bella scene all about!!! They were just looking at each other and wheezing!! Why wasn't Edward growling? Why didn't they make clear that he is a vampire... a dangerous vampire who was guarding his woman from another dangerous vampire?!!! Would have maybe explained why they were running???
They are trying to make Edward too human... but for who?!!! Grr the big wigs!!!!
Ironic really.
Edward doesn't want to be responsible for removing Bella's Soul...
Twilight's soul is what seems to be missing from this film.
Ok I'm going to stop now.
I have not seen New Moon yet and am hoping that it is better.
